Pacifica has a history of excellent schools but we lost it along the way. We lost both students and teachers in an exedous due to the way they were treated. People were here out of love, but moved to other districts even after 20 years of tenure. We used to have excellent, unique schools where everyone could find where they fit. We can build that again by fixing our finances, supporting educators, and creating schools where students excel and families are proud to belong. To do this, every decision should be made with students in mind.
Explain the why of all board decisions when they are made. Ensure that all correspondence is addressed and validated in a compassionate way Consider cuts at all levels, including and especially from the top.
Make student-centered budget decisions using data and expert input
Prioritize essential programs and services that directly support students
Follow all legal and financial requirements and protect district resources
Build a culture of respect, trust, and growth.
Create opportunities for educators and staff input and leadership.
Support collaboration between teachers, families, and administrators
